Death is Just the Beginning
A silent shiver
Shows Night's cold claim.
With love, unbidden,
Comes a pain
So deeply felt,
It shakes the bones,
And chills a heart to the coldest stone.
Death has come, life has fled
An enchanted embrace, one others fear,
Melts all pain to a sweet pleasure
To the floor falls one last tear,
A lone reminder of what has been
Now so impossible to regain,
Forever shunned by the Day's light.
Day fades to Night, and light becomes dark
The last rattling breath, life's dwindling spark,
Is lost to a shadow world.
For just a moment all the Earth stands still,
'Till all things rush back fast
A Thing is reborn, that all time will last
Death is just the Beginning.
